Program Overview

About the Program

  • Experience our Culture

As an intern you will be fully immersed in CTC’s collaborative and team-oriented culture. You will receive lots of support in your learning and development through one-on-one mentorship from your manager and team members.

  • Education

Learn from our world class Education team by participating in three classroom learning experiences including a week-long Basics of Options class, a series of trading simulations in our Introduction to Options Market Making class, and our Quant Curriculum to learn the facets of the quant knowledge base that are close to the intersection of trading, quant, and technology’s spheres of responsibility.

  • Housing

CTC provides housing for all interns in the Loop neighborhood of downtown Chicago. A quick 5- minute walk to the office, steps away from the lakefront, museums, and some of the best restaurants in the city, you will be excited to call Chicago home during the best time of the year! You will also be close to the L (Chicago's train system) to get you to some of our other iconic neighborhoods.

  • Social Events

Summertime Chi is the best place to be! Explore Chicago with your fellow interns and enjoy networking happy hours and social events put on by the Campus team.

Understand the Interview Process

Interviewing with us will give you an opportunity to meet a few of our best-in-class Quant Traders and Software Engineers. You will gain perspective on working in a challenging, fast-paced, innovative industry while we test your skills to ensure there is a mutual fit.

Be you, be curious and enjoy the interview process.

1
Submit your application

Our intern and full-time roles are posted in early fall. CTC has a straightforward application – fill out the questionnaire and attach your resume. We will contact you if we are interested in moving forward.

2
Complete an assessment

Depending on the role, the online assessment will be an aptitude assessment to test your critical thinking skills or a coding challenge to test basic programming skills. We want to set you up for success, so when invited to complete the test, you will be able to do practice tests to help you prepare. If you pass, we will review your resume and reach out with next steps!

3
Interview

Congrats, we are interested in interviewing you! This is your time to show us who you are and what you can do. There are two parts to the interview: behavioral and technical. The behavioral interview will cover questions that help us ensure a good values-match to CTC. For the technical portion, our QTA candidates will receive questions to evaluate their quantitative reasoning, and our SE candidates will receive questions to evaluate their programming skills.

4
Join us in the office!

If we extend you an offer to join the team, we will invite you to our Chicago Office to get a glimpse of where you will spend your summer. Our headquarters is in the heart of the city (the Loop). You will learn more about us through an office tour, hearing from senior leadership, current QTAs and SEs, and participating in a desk shadow and mock trading session. Grab some snacks, ask your questions, and envision your future with CTC. We cannot wait to meet you!
